About The Book

Barbara Kingsolver is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American novelist, essayist, and poet. Her widely known works include The Poisonwood Bible, the tale of a missionary family in the Congo, and  the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction-winning novel Demon Copperhead. Her work often focuses on topics such as social justice, biodiversity, and the interaction between humans and their communities and environments.

"We wanted to live in a place that could feed us: where rain falls, crops grow, and drinking water bubbles up right out of the ground."

In Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, Barbara Kingsolver opens her home to us, as she and her family attempt a year of eating only local food, much of it from their own garden. Inspired by the flavours and culinary arts of a local food culture, they explore many a farmers market and diversified organic farms at home and across the country. With characteristic warmth, Kingsolver shows us how to put food back at the centre of the political and family agenda.
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle is part memoir, part journalistic investigation, and is full of original recipes that celebrate healthy eating, sustainability and the pleasures of good food.

About The Joy Season

Honey & Co Studio launches in May with The Joy Season, the first programme of in-person events. With the single purpose of bringing more joy—because who can argue with more joy?—the season is all about taking up new hobbies, discovering new things, meeting new people, and exploring everyday pleasures. Sarit and Itamar will share their passion for ceramics—a pastime they took up during lockdown and which they now obsess over in their spare time—by leading a hands-on pinch pot making class, and they’ve invited a whole host of creatives to share their passions and pleasures through classes and workshops. From kimchi making to life drawing, from reading a good book to lino printing, there is something for everyone, all carefully curated.

Please note tickets are non-refundable.
